Meet our puppy Lumos

11 days ago we brought our new puppy home with us, and I haven’t slept much since.

His name is Lumos, yes, named after the Harry Potter spell. He is now 10 weeks old, weighs about 5kg and is a blue merle Australian Shepherd. He loves to play, sleep and chew on things like our couch, the coffee table, the balcony, our hands, and feet as well as his blanket. He has one brown eye and one that is half blue half brown, which is really common in this breed.

He keeps us super busy since he’s not fully potty trained yet. But we are working on it.

Puppy Update

A lot has changed since my last post. I’m now living in Berlin at my boyfriend’s place and since we have so much time we decided to get the puppy sooner. And with sooner I mean NEXT WEEKEND!

I am actually super excited. We visited multiple breeders until we found just the right pup for us. He is a blue-merle Australian Shepherd. Super sweet and super calm.

As soon as we have him home with us I will reveal the name and show you some photos.

We are getting a puppy!

So since my boyfriend and I are moving in together in summer we decided to get a puppy.

He has never had a pet before, besides a cat at his parents house. I on the other hand grew up surrounded by animals. I had mice when I was in kindergarden, then my first cat at age 4 or 5. When I was in middleschool we got another cat named Pepper. Then when I was 18 we got Jack, a ragdoll cat, he is the sweetest cat ever. Besides that I practiced horsebackriding from age 4 to 20. I’d say I’m rather experienced when it comes to taking care of animals.

Now that I’m not living at home anymore my daily routine has changed a lot. He and I actually have a lot of free time during the week. On the weekends he’s either gone for an away game or he has training and a home game. Eitherway we have plenty of time for a dog. We haven’t yet decided on which breed to get. We like Eurasier, Shelties as well as Samoyeds and Finnish Lapphunds. We are planning on taking the puppy home with us in July.

Prepare for a lot of puppy posts in the future.
